How did the idea of making a custom board come to your mind ?

I actually wanted to buy a board my boyfriend could actually skate but after speaking to friends, and because he was pro, I could never find out or guess the right set up, so I decided to make him something personal - the most elaborate birthday card ever.

How did you choose and create your graphic ?

I found the graphic of the hand on the internet but redrew it so it was slightly different (copyright etc) and filled it in with a mix of personal stuff, sayings etc that was quite personal to us.

Which advices would you give to the future board customisers ?

Strictly black and white files work best, use vectors for clean cut lines.

Quand il faut trouver un cadeau pour un skateur, cela peut être compliqué de trouver un graphisme qu’il aime totalement. C’est pourquoi designer son propre skate peut être une solution pour faire un cadeau mémorable ! Voici l’histoire de Loren qui l’a fait pour son copain, un ancien skateur pro.

Comment l'idée de personnaliser une planche t'es venue ?

En fait je voulais acheter à mon copain une planche qu’il puisse skater mais après en avoir parlé à des amis, et parce qu’il a été pro, je n’aurai jamais pu trouver ou deviner le bon setup, j’ai donc décidé de lui faire quelque chose de plus personnel - le cadeau le plus élaboré de tous les temps.

Pour faire un cadeau, vous avez deux solutions:

- Laisse votre ami personnaliser en lui offrant un bon pour personnaliser sa planche

Comment as-tu choisi et réalisé ton graphisme ?

J’ai trouvé le graphisme de la main sur internet puis je l’ai redessiné pour qu’il soit bien différent (par rapport au copyright), puis je l’ai rempli avec un mix de choses personnelles, paroles etc. personnelles à nous deux.

Quel conseil tu donnerais aux futurs customiseurs de planches ?

Les fichiers totalement en noir et blanc marchent le mieux. Utilisez la vectorisation pour avoir des “lignes de découpes” très nettes.
